Of the 300-person staff at Gearbox Studios, approximately 80 percent are working on the upcoming team-based shooter Battleborn.
This is according to Gearbox head Randy Pitchford, who revealed the statistics to Polygon during a recent podcast interview.
Pitchford claims the group working on Battleborn is collectively larger than the groups used to develop the previous two major installments in their blockbuster FPS franchise.
“We’ve invested more than Borderlands 1 and 2 added together into Battleborn,” he said.
Those not working on Battleborn are focusing on some of Gearbox’s other IPs, including a new Borderlands installment, a Duke Nukem sequel, and an all-new Brothers in Arms game. Few details about any of these projects are currently known.
Battleborn is expected to release on May 3, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Read IGN’s official Battleborn preview to learn more about co-op and intense 5v5 matches.
